Welcome to Zera. By accessing or using our platform at usezera.app (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Service.
Zera is operated by Zera ("we," "our," or "us"). These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Zera.
Description of Service
Zera is a social platform that enables users to:
- Discover and join topic-based discussions
- Host discussions and invite attendees
- Connect with like-minded people
- Integrate discussions with Google Calendar
- Participate in conversations through comments
- Build a professional network
Built for remote workers, available to all.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Zera. By using our Service, you represent and warrant that:
- You are at least 13 years of age
- You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
- Your use of the Service does not violate any applicable law or regulation
- You will provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
Account Registration
Google OAuth Authentication
Zera uses Google OAuth for authentication. By signing in, you:
- Authorize Zera to access your Google profile information (name, email, profile picture)
- May optionally grant calendar access to enable automatic event syncing
- Agree to maintain the security of your Google account
- Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
Account Security
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account
- All activities that occur under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access or security breach
User Conduct and Responsibilities
When using Zera, you agree NOT to:
- Violate any laws, regulations, or third-party rights
- Post or share content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, or otherwise objectionable
- Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation
- Upload viruses, malware, or any other malicious code
- Spam, solicit, or advertise commercial products or services without permission
- Collect or harvest personal information about other users
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers/networks connected to the Service
- Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) without our written permission
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service
- Create discussions for illegal activities or fraudulent purposes
Content Policies
User-Generated Content
You retain ownership of content you create on Zera (discussions, comments, profile information). By posting content, you grant Zera:
- A worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute your content
- The right to modify or adapt content for technical compatibility
- The right to use your content for promotional purposes (e.g., showcasing discussions)
Content Standards
All content must:
- Be accurate and not misleading
- Respect intellectual property rights
- Comply with applicable laws and regulations
- Foster constructive dialogue and meaningful conversations
Content Moderation
We reserve the right to:
- Remove or modify content that violates these Terms
- Suspend or terminate accounts that violate our policies
- Report illegal activity to law enforcement authorities
We are not responsible for monitoring all content but will take action when violations are reported or discovered.
Discussion Hosting
As a discussion host, you are responsible for:
- Providing accurate discussion information (title, date, time, timezone)
- Managing attendee requests appropriately
- Conducting discussions in a respectful and professional manner
- Ensuring discussions comply with these Terms and applicable laws
- Providing meeting links or instructions to confirmed attendees
- Honoring scheduled discussion times or providing advance notice of cancellations
Google Calendar Integration
When you grant calendar access to Zera:
- We will ONLY create, update, or delete events that we add on your behalf
- We will NOT access, read, or modify your existing calendar events
- Events will be automatically added when you join a discussion
- Events will be removed when you leave a discussion or the discussion is cancelled
- You can revoke calendar access at any time through your Google account settings

Email Communications
By using Zera, you consent to receive:
- Transactional emails (join requests, confirmations, security alerts)
- Notification emails (based on your preferences in Settings)
- Promotional emails (which you can opt out of at any time)
Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, features, graphics, and underlying code, is owned by Zera and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not:
- Copy, modify, or create derivative works of the Service
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
- Remove or alter any copyright or proprietary notices
- Use our trademarks without written permission
Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
- Warranties that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
- Warranties regarding the accuracy or reliability of content
- Warranties that defects will be corrected
You use the Service at your own risk. We do not guarantee that discussions will occur as scheduled or that hosts will fulfill their commitments.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ZERAʿ SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses
- Damages resulting from unauthorized access to your account
- Damages resulting from any content posted by users
- Damages resulting from cancelled or failed discussions
- Any damages exceeding the amount you paid to Zera in the past 12 months (currently $0, as the service is free)
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Zera, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:
- Your use of the Service
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third-party rights
- Content you post on the Service
Account Termination
Termination by You
You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at support@usezera.app. Upon deletion:
- Your personal data will be permanently deleted within 30 days
- Calendar events created by Zera will be removed
- Discussions you hosted may remain visible (as they affect other users)
Termination by Us
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately, without notice, if:
- You violate these Terms
- We suspect fraudulent or illegal activity
- Your use of the Service poses a security risk or harms other users
- We discontinue the Service (with reasonable notice)
Modifications to the Service
We reserve the right to:
- Modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time
- Introduce new features or remove existing features
- Change pricing (with advance notice if applicable)
We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of significant changes that materially affect your use of the Service.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make changes:
- The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised
- We will notify you via email or through the Service for material changes
- Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance
If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service and delete your account.
Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except for disputes that may be taken to small claims court.

Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Zera regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements.
